Zar Karamloo is a professional charcoal artist, with a strong background in pastel, colored pencil, pottery, painting, and hand-building techniques.
Her passion for art began at five, sketching everything around her with minimal resources. Her sketchbook and colored pencils were her closest companions, and this love for art grew with her over the years.
Although Zar earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, her heart was always drawn to art.
At twenty, Zar committed to a professional art career. She spent several years teaching art at an elementary school in Iran, conducted workshops, participated in exhibitions, and showcased her artworks.
Zar is a hyper-realistic charcoal artist who finds joy in blending realism and surrealism. Inspired by nature, she constantly experiments with new techniques to create distinctive and innovative artworks.
In January 2024, Zar proudly joined the incredible team at Cathedral Art School, beginning her artistic journey in Saskatchewan as an art instructor and local artist. She firmly believes that learning in art never ends and will always remain a student of creativity.
